Convert JPG or JPEG to ICO
.jpg and .jpeg are two extensions for the same image format. Either works here. Upload once for an ICO containing the selected resolutions, from 16 to 256 px. Camera orientation is applied before resizing.
Fit keeps your full photograph or logo and adds transparent padding when needed. Center crop fills the icon without stretching the image. Keep the important subject near the center.

Before converting your JPEG to an icon
Can I make the JPEG background transparent?
Not by converting formats alone. JPEG contains no alpha channel. The original white or colored background stays in the image. If you already have a transparent original, use PNG to ICO or WebP to ICO.
Which sizes should I choose?
16, 32 and 48 px are practical website defaults. Add 256 px for larger Windows icon views. Avoid enlarging a tiny source: extra pixels cannot recover missing detail.
Will a photograph look good as a favicon?
A close, high-contrast subject works better than a busy scene. Inspect the 16 px preview before downloading. For a simpler alternative, browse favicon examples.
Are there file limits?
The maximum upload is 10 MB and 16 megapixels. Conversion runs on the server without saving your image. A renamed PNG is not a JPEG and will be rejected.
